Industrial Soap: Disenchantment

In most cases, industrialists choose hot saponification. This technique is fast. It allows to sell the soap products very quickly. This technique heats fatty bodies (very often palm oil that you find under the name: sodium palmate) to speed up the reaction. The amount of soda is greater than necessary, always to speed up the reaction. The resulting paste must be rinsed so that the soap is not caustic.

Le savon industriel contient alors une infime partie d’agents surgraissants entre 1 à 3%, contrairement au savon saponifié à froid qui en contient naturellement de 6 à 8 %.

Ce sont aussi des savons appelés savon bondillon. Le bondillon est un copeau de savon fabriqué sans ajouter de surgras. Ce bondillon passe ensuite dans une extrudeuse où l’on ajoute l’agent de surgras. Cela donne des savons super réguliers, ce qui vous permet de le reconnaitre facilement.
