Soap « As before » Hey!

I often hear « soap, it's like before, it's better ». So I'm mixed up! I don't necessarily know what to say. Of course, for me soap is great. It's healthier. It is made with quality raw materials. They're handmade. But, is it really like before? I'm not sure.

The history of soap

Originally, prehistoric man rubs the hides of beasts with ashes. He realizes that rubbed skins are easier to clean. Which turns the skin fat into soap. They just knew that the dried skin at the feet of the fire was easier to wash.

Then man improved the process. He's making ash laundry. It's long after the chemical reaction was understood today.

But to be very honest with you, I think it's only a few decades since we've mastered exactly the saponification reaction. The soaps are made with knowledge, not with eye or experience. Quantitatively and qualitatively calculated, the formulae are safe. There's no room for you if « as before » wants to tell you that nothing was invented. I'll give it to you.

But if as before means to you that it is made as in the Middle Ages or at the beginning of the manufacture of soap, I do not agree with you.
